The Zimbabwe Project Beasley Direct has made a significant commitment to Hands of Hope Africa, a nonprofit organization working to house, feed and clothe orphans in Zimbabwe. At the beginning of 2007 we paid for a house designed for 85 kids in Chisipite, a village outside of the capital Harare which has been hard hit by the AIDS epidemic. In 2008 we'd like to buy one or two more houses, while helping to deliver more clothing and school supplies to Chisipite. Our own children say they are disappointed that, with all our effort, all we can take care of is 85 kids when there are millions of homeless orphans in Zimbabwe alone. We tell them, you have to start somewhere! The problems of the world are monumental but all we can do is approach them together, one village at a time.
